Text Box: Callaway County United Way elected new officers at the January Board meeting.  The following will serve a two year term: 
President — Cathi Miller Harris (Westminster College)
Vice President — Steve Mallinckrodt (Zimmer Radio Group)                
Treasurer - Brenda Foster (William Woods University) 
Secretary - Marsha Millard (Central Bank)                                     
Business Campaign Chair - Gabe Craighead (County Commissioner) 
PR Chair — Peg Dzicek (Premiere Parties and Events, LLC)
Kathy  Richey Liddle, Executive Director for the Callaway County United Way, will celebrate her 10th year with the organization this year.  The Board offered a fulltime position to Ms. Richey Liddle at the January Board meeting, which she accepted.  The United Way plans to increase their presence in the community through the new 2-1-1 state-wide helpline, the Born Learning Campaign, and many other new programs planned for the coming years.  The United Way is striving to become a Community Impact United Way along with the traditional fundraising to support our 14 agencies.

Text Box: The Callaway County United Way Board of Directors announced on January 17th that they have reached their fall 2007 goal.  Over $220,000 has been collected and pledged to fund agencies in Callaway County throughout 2008. 
We would like to thank the community for supporting our efforts during the fall campaign.
These funds are earmarked to subsidize 14 local agencies that provide over 200 programs and services to 10,000 people in Callaway County.

Text Box: The Callaway County United Way is thrilled to be partnering with the Kingdom of Callaway Chamber of Commerce’s Women’s Network on the “Women 2 Work” program.  “Women 2 Work” will collect used items from professional women and donate them specifically to women preparing to enter or re-enter the workforce.  Items collected may include business attire, business necessities and even seldom affordable “pamper yourself” items.  Distribution will be coordinated through United Way funded agencies including SERVE and HAVEN House.  If you’re a member of the Women’s Network, you’ll be getting more information on W2W very soon. 
Text Box: The Callaway County United Way will hold hearings in May to determine which community agencies will be funded during 2009. 
The mission of the Callaway County United Way is to increase the organized capacity of people to care for one another by serving as a funding entity to provide financial support to high priority human service agencies and as a community catalyst to match local needs with human services.
 
Text Box: The Callaway County United Way is accepting application from non-profit 501(c)3 organizations for funding during 2009.  The deadline for applications is Friday, March 28.  The United Way Board will hear the requests of the agencies on May 5 at the annual agency hearings.  Following the hearing the Board will meet to set the Fall 2008 goal and  the agency allocations.  The Fall campaign will kick off on Friday, October 3, 2008.
