The Great Rivers Council, Boy Scouts of America delivers a quality Scouting program to hundreds of boys ages 6 to 18 and young men and women ages 14 to 21 through local Cub Scout Packs, Boy Scout Troops, and Venture Crews.  We strive to instill values and character in your young people and teach them leadership, outdoor, social and life-skills that will serve them throughout their entire lives.  This is accomplished through various indoor and outdoor activities.

There are 5 separate programs:

  • Learning for Life is a classroom-based program that provides an action-learning process with grade-specific lesson plans for grades K-12, plus a complete supplement for special-needs students.

  • Exploring is a worksite-based program that gives youth an opportunity to visit community organizations and explore the dynamics of various careers.  For young men and women ages 14-20.

  • Venturing provides positive experiences to help young people mature and to prepare them to become responsible and caring adults. Venturing provides the skills needed for young adults to make ethical choices, experience a fun program full of adventure and challenges, acquire leadership skills, and to take advantage of opportunities to advance their skills and knowledge in the areas of high adventure, sports, arts, hobbies, religious life, and Sea Scouting.  For young men and Women ages 14-20.

  • Cub Scouts is a year-round family- and home-centered program that develops ethical decision-making skills for boys in the first through fifth grade Activities emphasize character development, citizenship training, and personal fitness.
